Apply to ETHDenver on our website today to join us in Denver February 14–16 2020!
Welcome back #BUIDLers! Applications for ETHDenver 2020 are officially live on our website via Devfolio for developers, volunteers, speakers and all other Bufficorns. We also have some exciting news to share about ETHDenver’s evolution and some of the fun planned for 2020.
ETHDenver Is Taking the First Steps Toward Evolving Into a DAO
Have you ever wanted to be part of a Decentralized Autonomous Organization, or DAO? ETHDenver 2020 is taking the first steps toward evolving into a DAO and attendees will be members, so get ready to join! At the event, after checking in and having your identity authenticated by Fortmatic, you will be given a badge which will serve as your ETHDenver 2020 membership card. Your badge will allow you to interact with the ETHDenver ecosystem as a DAO stakeholder, and as you do, you will earn blockchain-based reputation and voting power within the ETHDenver DAO. Playing in the new ETHDenver arcade, interacting with sponsors, or finding hidden Easter Eggs throughout the venue are just some of the ways you will be able to earn reputation and voting power in the DAO. You’ll be able to use your power to vote for winning projects, to collect rewards and more. We’re very excited for you to join our interactive 2020 DAO ecosystem through collaboration with Fortmatic, DAOStack, Devfolio, 3Box, Bounties Network, Gitcoin and others.
#BUIDL Week, DAOFest, & bZx’s Mount Retreat
The open-source, community driven #BUIDL Week will be February 10–13, 2020. We were blown away by how many events were hosted in 2019, so in 2020, you won’t see any keystone events by ETHDenver on the schedule. The entire week will be community-driven and feature free coworking too! Booking information for #BUIDL Week events will be announced in early 2020.
On February 13, DAOStack will host DAOFest live at the Sports Castle, the beloved home of ETHDenver’s BUIDLathon. DAOFest will provide tools for those who want to launch, interact with, or understand the early DAO ecosystem. DAOStack will provide food on-site for the day-long event, and there will be lots of great information on ETHDenver’s DAO too, so join us at the Sports Castle the day before the BUIDLathon!
Following ETHDenver, bZx will officially host the ETHDenver 2020 Mountain Retreat in Breckenridge, Colorado. Be prepared for fun meals together, curated gatherings, and of course, skiing! The Mountain Retreat will be February 17–20, 2020.
50/50/50 Initiative with Bounties Network & Apprentio
50 international countries. 50 U.S. states. 50 scholars! This is one of ETHDenver’s 2020 goals. In collaboration with Bounties Network, Devcon Scholars and Apprentio, ETHDenver aims to have more geographic diversity than ever before, and provide more scholarships for those who need them. Need to apply as a Scholar? Want to help a Scholar attend and earn ETHDenver DAO reputation points? Get the full details on our 50/50/50 initiative here.
The Burner Is Back
In 2019, ETHDenver attendees purchased meals from our food truck marketplace using buffiDAI and a burner wallet. This was one of the most exciting blockchain use cases we’ve implemented to date and Austin Griffith, along with the Fortmatic team, will be helping us implement the burner wallet into ETHDenver 2020’s DAO ecosystem.
We call ETHDenver a BUILDathon and Community Gathering for a reason- it’s for the whole family! Bufficorns large and small are welcome, and we will again provide free childcare on-site February 14–16. Times and sign-up information will be available in early 2020.
The ETHDenver Arcade, Guided Meditation, Art Installations & More
Gaming is becoming a major force in user adoption, so ETHDenver will feature an arcade combining both blockchain-based and traditional games in 2020. The arcade will be one of the venue areas ETHDenver attendees can earn reputation and voting power in the DAO. You won’t want to miss some of the Bufficorn games we have planned!
Did you take advantage of the complimentary yoga classes in ETHDenver’s Relaxation Room last year? Self care is an important part of every Bufficorn’s routine, and along with daily yoga practice, we will also be offering guided meditations and other amenities. You may even be able to sit in on a guided meditation session with our Awareness Steward, Dmitry Buterin (the Grandfather of Ethereum).
Love art, design or just generally creating? ETHDenver is not just for the techies! We welcome a diversity of intelligences, so if you want to learn more about art on the blockchain, make sure to stop by our MakerSpace and art gallery. Back this year with artproject.io founder and ETHDenver Art Steward Jessica Angel, ETHDenver 2020’s MakerSpace will feature interactive art installations, hands-on workshops, and more. Prepare to create fellow Bufficorns!
Introducing the PegaBufficorn
If you’ve followed our social media posts or visited our website, you have likely seen the Bufficorn’s friendly cousin, the PegaBufficorn. The PegaBufficorn, much like the Bufficorn, is highly collaborative. Yet, if you look closely, you’ll notice something a little different about the PegaBufficorn- Pega can fly! ETHDenver 2020 is the year we take flight, so make sure to follow along with the PegaBufficorn’s BUIDLathon journey on our Twitter and Medium channels. We’ll have an origin story for you much like the Bufficorn’s sometime soon.
We are looking forward to seeing you at ETHDenver 2020! Applications are now live on our website via Devfolio.
